Invisalign Orthodontics – Orthodontic Treatment from a Preventive Perspective –
Tomoko Dental Clinic, a 5-minute walk from Tenmabashi Station, offers Invisalign orthodontic treatment using transparent, nearly invisible mouthpiece-type aligners. This page introduces the features and process of Invisalign treatment at our clinic.
About Mouthpiece (Invisalign) Orthodontics
Invisalign is an orthodontic system with a treatment record of more than 17 million cases worldwide, designed to address a wide range of cases from children to adults. Because teeth are moved gradually by changing aligners, discomfort tends to be minimal, and the aligners are removable so your lifestyle does not need to change significantly. One notable benefit is that pre-treatment simulation allows the patient and dentist to share a clear picture of the treatment goal. Each custom-made aligner is designed to fit comfortably based on the individual patient's oral condition. Properly aligning the teeth may also have a positive effect on dental health, as it can make it more difficult for cavities and gum disease to develop.
Mouthpiece orthodontics can help address these common concerns about braces!
The transparent aligners are difficult for others to notice during treatment.
Custom-made for a comfortable fit with minimal pain and discomfort.
Removable, so eating and oral care can continue as usual.
Does not interfere with playing musical instruments or sports, and is less likely to irritate the inside of the mouth.
Three Features of Invisalign Treatment at Our Clinic
Visualize your future smile through simulation!
Using 3D data from an intraoral scanner and detailed examination results, we can simulate on a computer how your teeth will move from the start to the completion of treatment. By reviewing the treatment goal together with your dentist, you can approach treatment with greater peace of mind. An estimated treatment timeline can also be confirmed.
We use an intraoral scanner!
An intraoral scanner is a device that scans the inside of the mouth and creates precise 3D data of the teeth and bite. Previously, impressions were taken by placing impression material inside the mouth, a process that caused a gag reflex for many patients and placed considerable burden on them. With a small scanner inserted into the mouth, dental impressions can now be taken quickly and accurately, significantly reducing patient burden.
With Invisalign treatment, it is possible to review tooth movement in advance through a 3D simulation. Using a dedicated app, a selfie of your smile can be used to predict how your smile may appear after treatment. Since aligner fabrication can begin from 3D data alone, the time from consultation to treatment start can also be reduced.
To meet the needs of patients who wish to complete orthodontic treatment as efficiently as possible, Tomoko Dental Clinic offers Invisalign treatment in combination with a Photobiomodulation (PBM) device. The PBM device emits near-infrared light to activate cells and support smoother tooth movement. Using PBM in combination with Invisalign may help reduce inflammation, alleviate discomfort, and shorten the treatment period.
Benefits of the Photobiomodulation (PBM) Device
Treatment period may be shortened by up to half.
Invisalign aligners are normally changed approximately every 7 to 10 days, but when used in combination with the PBM device, it may be possible to change them as frequently as every 3 days. By using the PBM device at home for just 8 minutes per day, there have been cases where treatment that would typically take one year was completed in 5 months. *Individual results vary.
Invisalign is generally considered to cause less discomfort than wire braces, as teeth are moved gradually with aligner changes. However, some patients experience stronger discomfort when wearing a new aligner for the first time or immediately after a change. In such cases, using the PBM device in combination can activate the tissues surrounding the teeth, helping to reduce undue force on the bone and tissue and alleviate discomfort.
For Patients Who Live Far Away: Reduce Office Visits with the "Virtual Care" App
For patients undergoing Invisalign treatment at our clinic, we offer online consultations using a dedicated app. By taking photos of your own mouth and sending them regularly through the app, it is possible to have your treatment progress checked from home.
